Books are important, and making a big deal out of books with children is a great way to get them engaged in reading, something that will have many positive effects throughout their lives. And it looks like we may have a new tradition of celebrating books developing right here in the Bangor area.

After all, the way we raise animals for meat currently using our factory farming practices is bad for the animals, bad for the planet, and bad for us. If there is a way around all of this, I want to learn more.

The fun begins at 5:30 PM, and we’ll have a poetry reading, an art activity for children in honor of the The Art Walk events, and a signing. I don’t know how well my son is going to sign those books, but, by golly, he’s going to try.
